ImportantPirate Chain Suffers Exploit, Resulting in Abnormal Token Supply Inflation of Approximately 20%

Privacy-focused public chain Pirate Chain has disclosed a critical transaction validation vulnerability that triggered an abnormal token minting incident.
On October 14, a transaction validation flaw was identified in Pirate Chain's source code. Exploiters leveraged this vulnerability to unauthorizedly mint approximately 39.8 million ARRR tokens, directly increasing the project's total token supply by roughly 20%. These abnormally generated tokens were immediately transferred into the project's Sapling privacy pool in an attempt to obfuscate the fund flow trail.

The root cause of the vulnerability stems from the simultaneous failure of two validation processes: attackers first bypassed the system's built-in supply inflation check mechanism, then exploited an error in the output script parsing logic to complete the abnormal token generation operation. This dual validation lapse directly breached the original code's security protection perimeter.

Crypto asset trading platform NonKYC was the first to detect the related suspicious deposits, immediately imposing restrictions on associated accounts and intercepting withdrawal operations of the involved funds, preventing the abnormally minted tokens from entering public trading markets and causing further disruptions. The project team has now released a dedicated investigation update regarding this vulnerability exploitation incident, and will subsequently disclose follow-up plans for vulnerability remediation and asset disposition.
