OKX Responds to Secondary Identity Verification Reminders: This Is Periodic KYC Updates, Not an Indication of Account Abnormalities
Star, Founder of OKX, stated that OKX periodically verifies and updates user identity information based on the specific status of each account. Users may be required to complete identity verification again under scenarios such as 1 year, 3 years, or 5 years having elapsed since account opening, or when their identity documents expire. Star noted that this is a standard practice for global financial institutions to fulfill KYC (Know Your Customer) obligations, and does not imply that any account has abnormalities. Users only need to truthfully update their information in accordance with official prompts. Previously, some users registered in Chinese Mainland posted on X that they had received secondary verification reminders from OKX, questioned whether this measure was related to tax requirements, and reported that they were unable to close their accounts.
