Lighter Launches EVM Devnet Built in Partnership with Axiom

Lighter has announced the launch of the Lighter EVM devnet. This is an EVM-equivalent Rollup built in collaboration with Axiom, powered by OpenVM, and runs in parallel with Lighter Core. The two components are designed to jointly settle to Ethereum via a single ZK proof. Developers can deploy contracts using Foundry, Hardhat, Viem, and Ethers, read account, balance, position, order and market data from Lighter Core, place, modify and cancel orders through smart contracts, and transfer assets between the devnet L1, Lighter Core and Lighter EVM. Lighter is currently being rolled out in phases, with plans to open access to all developers in the coming weeks.
