ImportantResearchers State Ledger Received Reports of Hardware Implants Months Ago

Former Mt.Gox CEO Mark Karpelès stated that at least two individuals notified Ledger of tampered devices as early as December 2025. Security researcher Joe Grand also noted that he reported a malicious hardware implant on a Nano X to Ledger on March 4, 2026, and Ledger confirmed his discovery stating that an internal investigation was underway. Both parties have questioned Ledger for failing to issue timely public warnings to its customers. Ledger declined further comment on the handling of Grand's report, and directed media to refer to its public statement posted on the X platform.
