Report: Stablecoin Remittance Costs Are 84% Lower Than Traditional Methods

The latest Q3 report from stablecoin payment network Borderless.xyz shows that the median cost of sending a $200 remittance via stablecoin channels is only 1% (approximately $2), while the cost of traditional remittances stands at 6.36% (approximately $12.72), making the stablecoin solution roughly 84% cheaper. Savings are even more pronounced in emerging markets: in Sub-Saharan Africa, stablecoin remittance costs are 2.9% compared to 8.46% for traditional methods; in Latin America, the figures are 1.25% and 5.64% respectively. For corporate payments, transferring $10,000 to the Eurozone incurs a minimum cost of only $26 via stablecoin, whereas traditional bank wire transfers cost between $135 and $150.
