Anthropic Co-Founder: AI Could Significantly Boost U.S. GDP to $44 Trillion

Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark stated on Saturday that artificial intelligence capabilities are advancing rapidly, driving faster changes across all sectors. An internal economic model from the firm forecasts that AI could drive U.S. economic output to surge to $44 trillion by 2030. Speaking at the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings held in Bangkok, Clark noted that the international community needs to collaborate to establish "special and strict rules" for this transformative technology. Clark acknowledged that the projection of U.S. GDP reaching $44 trillion, up from the current level of just over $30 trillion, "sounds extremely implausible", but AI is drastically accelerating scientific discovery. He added that such an outcome is achievable as long as the technology continues to advance.
