Reuters: Some Investors Consider Lowering Anthropic IPO Valuation Expectations to Approximately $1.5 Trillion
Following Anthropic's disclosure of its latest financial data, some existing and potential IPO investors are considering downward revisions to their valuation expectations. At a San Francisco investor event on October 14, the valuation discussed by some investors stood at approximately $1.5 trillion, lower than the prior expectation of around $2 trillion for the November IPO. Anthropic disclosed to investors that its third-quarter revenue increased 45% quarter-over-quarter to $16.8 billion, and the company achieved adjusted profitability. However, second-quarter revenue had more than doubled quarter-over-quarter to $11.6 billion, and the deceleration in growth has disappointed some investors. The aforementioned valuation remains under discussion among investors and is not the final IPO pricing; Anthropic did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment.
