Analyst Darkfost: A 20% S&P Correction Does Not Imply Bitcoin Will Fall to $10,000

On-chain analyst Darkfost published a statement refuting the projection that Bitcoin could drop to $10,000 following a sharp correction in U.S. stock markets. He noted that per his statistical metrics, BTC falling to $10,000 would represent a roughly 92% drawdown from its all-time high; in Bitcoin's history, a daily closing price drawdown exceeding 92% has only occurred in 2011. Darkfost argues that as Bitcoin's market capitalization has expanded drastically from its early stages, its resilience to drawdowns has also increased, so a decline of over 20% in the S&P 500 Index cannot be simply correlated to BTC falling to $10,000. He also points out that since Bitcoin's inception, the S&P 500 has experienced declines exceeding 20% only 5 times, resulting in a limited historical sample size.
