Elon Musk Comments on Anthropic Public Benefit Fund: Proposes 'Distribute Shares Directly to the Public'

Anthropic announced in the early hours of today that it has transferred a portion of its shares to the newly established wholly owned entity, the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, which operates entirely in the public interest. The fund is initially seeded with 5% of the company's shares. Going forward, an additional 2% of shares will be contributed each time the company's valuation increases by 50% relative to a predefined baseline, until the fund holds approximately 20% of the total shares. In response, Elon Musk suggested that the company 'distribute the shares directly to the public', and later added, 'This is exactly what I am going to do.'
