Anthropic Releases Internal Report: AI Agent Work Hours Reach 6 Times That of Human Employees, Entry-Level Technical Hiring Share Contracts Sharply
The latest research report *How employment is changing at Anthropic* disclosed by Anthropic shows that as of August this year, the working hours of interactive AI agents deployed by employees have reached 6 times that of human workers. The proportion of junior staff in the company's technical department has dropped from 21% at the beginning of 2025 to 14%, and the share of entry-level technical position hiring has fallen from 27% to 9%. The report states that the average code commits per engineer have increased 5-fold compared to six months ago, output from non-technical roles such as sales and legal has also risen in tandem, and the rollback and deletion rates of AI-generated code show no difference from those of human-written code. Hiring managers now place greater emphasis on candidates' autonomy and judgment, rather than domain-specific technical skills.
