U.S. Stock Futures Rebound as Investors Return to AI Trades Following Sell-Offs
U.S. stock futures rose on Sunday evening, led by Nasdaq futures. S&P 500 futures gained 0.5% to 7,739.75 points, Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 1% to 29,686.75 points, and Dow futures edged up 0.1% to 52,272.0 points. In the prior week, the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 4.5%, ending a four-week winning streak, dragged down by concerns over financing costs for AI infrastructure and the sustainability of tech stock valuations. The S&P 500 dropped nearly 2%, marking its largest single-week decline since late June. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index posted its longest consecutive losing streak since the 2008 financial crisis. CoreWeave, the data center operator backed by NVIDIA, fell 12% on Friday, accumulating a roughly 25% loss over five trading days. Tech giants including Meta and Tesla are set to release their earnings reports this week.
