IoTeX Zanzibar Hard Fork Goes Live on Mainnet, Staking Rewards Now Distributed Directly On-Chain by the Protocol

The Zanzibar hard fork has been activated on the IoTeX mainnet at block height 53,533,081. In accordance with IIP-59, voter rewards will be calculated and distributed on-chain during each reward era, eliminating off-chain services and intermediate processes. All users can directly verify every payment on-chain, with the first batch of on-chain distributions scheduled to take effect the following day. This upgrade also strengthens consensus through proof-of-possession checks for delegate keys, laying the groundwork for subsequent BLS signature aggregation. Node operators are required to upgrade to iotex-core v2.5.1, with no configuration modifications or re-synchronization needed.
