Voting Opens for ENSv2 Ethereum Mainnet Activation Proposal, Closing on October 25
The ENS official team has announced that DAO voting for the ENSv2 Ethereum mainnet activation proposal is now open, with the voting period scheduled to close on October 25. If the proposal is approved and executed, ENSv1 will cease accepting new domain registrations, while existing domains will remain eligible for renewal. Following the completion of final synchronization, ENS Labs will open ENSv2 registrations and support upgrades for existing domains, before transferring all remaining administrative permissions to the DAO. ENS confirms that existing .eth domains will remain fully functional, with no set deadline for upgrades. ENSv2 will enhance domain and subdomain management capabilities through a layered registry architecture and flexible permission configuration frameworks.
