Google Updates UAE Crypto Advertising Policy, Imposing Licensing and Certification Requirements Effective October 21
According to Google's advertising policy announcement, starting October 21, 2026, advertisers running advertisements for cryptocurrency exchanges and software wallets targeted at the United Arab Emirates must obtain a license from one of the local designated regulatory authorities and complete Google certification. Acceptable licensing authorities include the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA, previously referenced as CMA), Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), and Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). Advertisers must also comply with other relevant local legal requirements, and this policy applies to all global accounts that deliver the aforementioned advertisements targeting the UAE.
