Nvidia's Debt Insurance Cost Surpasses Meta, AI Financing Risks Escalate

Frank Curzio, CEO of Curzio Research, stated that the cost of insuring against Nvidia's debt default has risen more than threefold since the start of this year. Currently, the cost of purchasing default protection for Nvidia's debt exceeds that of Meta, marking the first occurrence of this dynamic since at least November 2025. Goldman Sachs clients have referred to this situation as "a crisis without a crisis". Demand for AI chips remains robust, but the actual shortage is in capital providers willing to extend loans. Goldman Sachs statistics show that the volume of AI-related debt issued since 2026 has reached $489 billion, far exceeding the bank's earlier forecast of $322 billion. A $5 billion loan from an AI cloud service company had to raise interest rates to attract investor subscriptions, ultimately yielding over 11%. Nvidia maintains ample cash reserves.
