Fed's Logan: At Least Two More 25-Basis-Point Rate Hikes Are Required

2026 FOMC voter and Dallas Fed President Lorie Logan stated in a speech at Davidson College that the Federal Reserve needs to implement at least two additional 25-basis-point rate hikes. Skipping a policy meeting will not alter the ultimate policy objective; pausing after a cumulative 50 basis points of additional tightening will allow policymakers to assess subsequent policy actions. Logan noted that it is "unacceptable" for inflation to fail to decline to the 2% target, and the current 3.75% to 4.00% interest rate range is insufficient to achieve the inflation target. This week, the Federal Reserve voted 10-2 to hold interest rates unchanged, with Logan voting in favor of the decision.

Newer accounts will retain temporary restrictions until verification is completed to prevent fraud and abuse, and users will receive an email notification when restrictions are removed. The weekly usage limit remains unchanged.
